It was a promotional and research trip through twelve states, just over 5,000 miles. This is the last night on the road and I am spending it in Cortez, Colorado at the delightful and whimsical Retro Inn, a motel concept that would work well in Kingman for an investor with vision.
Countless meetings, the Miles of Possibilities of Conference, and a bit of exploration have confirmed my long held conviction that Kingman is at the center of a tourism destination without equal. In fact, I would be willing to go as far as saying that no community along the Route 66 corridor has greater undeveloped tourism potential than our fair city.
As tourism and economic development share a hand in glove relationship, the Route 66 renaissance as well as the international interest in the American southwest and Native American culture represents an incredible opportunity for the city.
On the evening of November 19, Promote Kingman will host the first in a series of community development events at Beale Celebrations. I am honored by the opportunity to open this historic event with an inspirational promotion on the Route 66 renaissance.
In addition, there will be a dinner created by Chef Giribaldi, a silent auction with proceeds being donated to the Route 66 Association of Kingman neon sign and facade restoration initiative, and the debut of a new video series, Jim Hinckley’s America: Trek Along Route 66 developed in partnership with MyMarketing Designs and Promote Kingman. I hope to see you there.
