The first two days of the trip to the Miles of Possibilities Conference in Bloomington, Illinois have been productive and quite interesting.
As an example, yesterday during a meeting with the Main Street Program Director in Tucumcari, New Mexico, I learned that he was an ASU classmate of Scott Dunton, president of the Route 66 Association of Kingman!
As always, it is great to meet with people traveling Route 66, providing assistance, and listening to have a better understanding of the road from their perspective. It is also fun to provide souvenirs from sponsors of the trip such as Grand Canyon West Resort, museum passes, and discount coupons from Grand Canyon Caverns.
